DC era...?

The last 9 years we saw the remarkable hits from Marvel, simply amazing how all the stories and characters links to an ultimate storyline. Surely, everything have changed since then, and now DC Comics too is coming out to showcase their products. Although their themes are different, us as audience are really the ones benefitting from an entertaining perspective. Man of Steel, I thought was a good reboot to the franchise, then came Batman VS Superman, wow.... Now Wonder Woman, what can I say.... Let's all sit back and wait for Justice League.

What can I say…? Been a real while not updating my FLOG nowadays. Interestingly enough, I have already shot 2 short movies back to back. One titled "Conversation with God", adapted from a material found on my FB which someone posted, basically talking to God, hence the title. The second is a part of a police-crime story which we took the one of the plot and shot it. It came out so impromptu, that i ended up acting in it! And I think I suck…. Didn't know why I agree to do it, but back then it sounded right. No sure ever releasing them both…will see how it goes.

Well, 2014 again promises more great films coming out, the Koreans ain't showing signs of slowing down…although HK films seems pretty lame of late. Still Hollywood is commanding most audiences, and with Marvel and DC now in full swing in their properties…seems so very interesting.

Am really looking forward to Godzilla and the new X-Men to be release soon. Keep them coming.

Merry Christmas

Wow! Time does flyby of late. While as usual work took most of our time, and in a blink its year end. Honestly I have quite a bit catch up to do for movies this year, but a recently HK movie did grab my attention…The White Storm. Starring Louis Koo, Nick Cheung, Lau Ching Wan…a cop-drug-cat-mouse-undercover flick. The plot was good, with good characters, action was decent…something to be glad from HK as their recently movies are lame. Go watch it, if you haven't. Merry Christmas to all who celebrate, and happy holiday to the rest!

2013 - back on track...

Another year has come...and we survived doomsday, or it's doomsday starting from now.... Guess mankind will never know. 2012 has been quite a rough ride, however I believe the ride will be smoothen from now on.

Great stuff in the movie world for 2012...with The Avengers, The Dark Knight Rises, Skyfall and The Hobbit - to name these few big hit. But the one movie I was waiting for...Prometheus. It's Ancient Alien in a movie form. There were of course some great surprises along the was...Ted, The Bullet Vanishes (HK), Premium Rush, Cabin in the name a few good surprises to me.

2012 also open me up to the Korean cinema...Wow! Really great stuff coming out from there. Great acting, good script and technically all good...way, way better than most Asian cinema. Here's a few (Actually some are old) I saw the Devil, Man from Nowhere, Nameless Gangster, Moss to name a few. Really good stuff from the Koreans.

As for my own film project, I have enlisted my friend Mr Kenny Chan to help me direct my upcoming horror project entitled "The Night Watchmen". More updates to come. Happy New Year!

So far...

It's been pretty busy times lately, however will still find time to relax and what other way than to hit the cinemas or dvds or blu rays. Over the past weeks, there were quite a few misses than hits, for example...The Last Airbender...letdown, Salt...ain't that salty! Ong Bak 3...fell flat.

Shutter Island, Inception and Unthinkable stood out, and it's all about the story. It's really back to the story and use technology to enhance it and not the other way around. Looking forward to couple of HK films coming out soon, and hopefully they will turn out alright.
